Worst Comment any to work at least in India. Leadership in Montreal and London need to take step to identify mischievous persons. There are person hard worker who doesn’t get promotion 10 of years and others who is close to manager getting out of turn promotion.

The global culture at Rio Tinto is quite positive, but the culture within the India offices is really tough. Employees face extremely long working hours, and the environment is far from ideal. It's challenging, and honestly, not a company I'd recommend joining, especially if you're looking for a supportive atmosphere

The culture at Rio Tinto is deeply unsettling, especially in India. What they claim globally doesn’t align with the reality here, and individuals are constantly caught in confusion about what to follow. The Australian dominance overshadows everything, with little respect for Indian values. Employees are treated more like laborers, and the environment is highly political. There's always a lingering fear of losing your job, as decisions seem arbitrary. The company’s history and culture are suffocating, and it feels like at any moment, Australia could decide to terminate anyone's position without notice. Rio tinto does not have any attendance system, login and log out time is also not tracked. They provide meals daily. They also provide various juice, lassi, soft drinks. Gym plans (Cult fitness)

Dislikes

The employee culture is not really good. Since the company makes sure the employee well being, however the managers genaerally do not support employees and have nothing to do with the employees work life balance.

Horrible management, treat employee like servent like kaha jaa rhe ho ,lunch pr abhi kyu jaa rhe ho, hum kya kre barish ho rhi h to office aana pdega kaise b aao, when go to take coffee then they were like break kam liya kro, 10 min m lunch kr liya kro itna time thodi lgta h lunch krne m. 18-15 hours of shift in month end only 30 min of break even after that they will aap kaam ko priority nhi de rhe itna break kyu le rhe ho. New people get hired at mid level and they try to create their space with unnecessary ideas and inputs.Then they hire their dearones from outside blocking your growth. Then these people creates their lobby and exclude old resources from all initiaves and slowly gradually you would be very demotivated and these people will make you feel that no growth for you and you should look out and you yourself change the job. In multiple teams it has happened. Having controls at mid level dirty politics is what Rio should look now and hiring process of Manager's dearones as well. Below are good things:- - Work life balance - Work satisfaction - Friendly Seniors - Hike is almost double of Inflation rate in India - Pay Parity - IJPs are promoted

No major dislikes as such. Below things can be improved:- - No cab facility for day shift employees. - Only one meal basis the shift. - Mobile allowance of ₹2k p.m which is taxable. It should be reimbursement and not taxable. - No free udemy business (Though they have Linkedin Learning) - No secondment or Travel opportunities - No big parties or events - Office space of 5A is not as lavish as 7B.
