When I was hired they confirmed me that the work will match my previous job role and structure, later I found that I need to compete with the CA's on Financial Services and statements. As a B.tech and Masters in Business Analytics it was not a cup of tea for me. Still I tried to my best , one day I visited my Senior Manager and asked her to put me to some desired project I explained the situation I mentioned above , I was shocked to know the same person interviewed me and with a Question mark on serious note she was telling me Aren't you from the Financial Background? I was shocked and stunned. Phase 2- I suddenly had a serious medical urgency with my dad , with a critical Spine Surgery, I took the WFH permission from my Leads and HRBP on the same, still with each day I was humiliated . I was completing my work after coming back from hospital from 8.30pm at night till 4am in the morning , instead of any Thanks or Appreciated mail I was getting a call from my Manager and she was claiming myself a Shit in work culture, I was not claiming any extra amount for my work . After all these I came out of PwC without any offer because for me keeping my mental health to be stable is a big issue....Read More

Not at all employee -friendly , will make you work even in your death bed. Will torture you even after resignation, 3 months of notice period will be a hell here. Lack of skilled managers, they just use lame jargons to cover their lack of technical knowledge You might be alloted tasks out of your technical role like ppt,excel,etc. Very inhumane company, if they expect us to work out of working hours, should not they also provide benefits out of their policy....Read More

Nothing good in Big4 with respect to technology consulting as they don’t have any product or solution of their own.

Specific to technology consulting only - 1. People don’t have adequate experience or expertise. 2. It’s a partner driven organisation. So no company culture. 3. Steve Jobs once said to consultants- “Do some real job” 4. The entire team runs on Google search and chat Gpt. Almost zero field experience.

Dislikes

Very toxic culture, some of the senior leaders in PwC's very own HR team lack basic work ethics & people management skills. Individuals in leadership roles are promoted based on their results but compeletely ignoring their behavioural aspects. I dont think this review would even matter to them.

Great people, great environment although this may differ from project to project and individual people behavior. Perks are very good. High cover health insurance, L&D benefits, awesome flexibility and additional self enrolled fund benefit for near and dear one (applicable on individual selection)

Dislikes

Sometime some leadership do micro management which affects adversely to the mental health. Major dislike is initially you will get a good salary if you switch from any other company to PwC. But in appraisal expecting much may disappoint you.

I'd like to caution against certain job openings at PwC, specifically those in the Kolkata SDC. Despite having access to various technologies, management's approach to learning and development is limited, with decisions often prioritizing company billability to clients over employee growth. The management style is inadequate, with alack of focus on scaling individual employees' competencies. Instead, resources are often burdened with irrelevant training programs. Furthermore, there appears to be a disconnect between the US directors and partners, who seem to be unaware of the actual technology being used. Got Negative vibes Right from Induction Day. A previous batch Induction recording was played for 2 days. HR are not reachable from the start of joining date. Everything has to self learned from the start. Any person having 1/2 experience would find it very challenging to navigate during start of 3-4 months. Lacks transparency about the job role during interview causes real trouble. Please ask for clarity during interview itself. Regret leaving my previous company for this role in PWC. Managers are super supportive. You get the freedom to work on your ideas and articulate them to the client directly.

Dislikes

Salary hike is not good. Promotions depends on office politics rather than your skillsets. Sometimes if there is no project with your team then the entire resource cluster stays unproductive for months. Switching to other team is next to impossible.

Leaders are totally useless & inefficient when it comes to HR & admin Department. Shakir Iqbal, Pemanand, Karthi Palanikumar are pathetic employees and have no work ethics. Vikas Aggarwal - Director from the contingent Workforce management team is one the most incompetent leader I have seen. He regularly abuses his team & gives no growth. Should be fired immediately on compliance ground.
