I am pretty sure people who want to join this company will consider Big 4 as a main criteria and this exactly has been the biggest disappointment for me. I felt like i am working in some start up with no proper procedures in place. No body knows what to do with no clear understanding of responsibilities. Client deliverables are a joke. I have seen onshore mangers asking to pass test cases with jugad their only concern is completion of task before time and removing it from their bucket. They treat India resources as labour with no consideration of their time. I have been pulled into late night calls and they don’t even ask if i have any plans or is it late. The biggest issue has been people with no talent and knowledge of the subject matter seating in senior management positions and this translates to hell lot of pressure on developers....Read More

Learning opportunities are immense. Try working for the Indian partner firms and not the US offices. The growth there, will be better despite the lower pay. Work life balance in the ACs (US offices) are better Work life balance in the Indian partner firms is a lot worse and more client facing Pay in the US offices is far greater but stagnates as the growth opportunities are lower. The firm is also quite middle manager heavy, creating a sort of glass ceiling. The Indian firms tho a lot more demanding have benefits with added client exposure, more autonomy on decision making and your own running projects....Read More

In the US partner firms, the US engagement team calls the shots and you’re an offshore resource. You do have a say in the decision making process and get to experience the end to end delivery but rarely will be running an entire project on your own. The above varies not just within the PwC teams but also within the individual clientdelivery teams. So your mileage may vary. Over all still a great place to learn and way above a lot of other firms from an Advisory point of view. Can’t say much about the Assurance, Audit or Managed Services teams....Read More

For the people who don't crib about work life balance and other dumb things, this is a great place to work. You will have work and will learn a lot of things on the go. You'll feel very relevant with the world and the work you will be getting.

Dislikes

Like every other service based organization here too you have a very large team so the processes and accesses are defined as per hierarchy which requires the total understanding of all the work for getting a new feature added to any application.

They basically report to engagement teams who are located in different countries ( US & Europe). So the structure is like a Senior Manager working from India is afraid of an Associate sitting in UK. Now guess if you are an associate. Also no job security. They keep firing their employees for petty reasons.

No work recognition, no timely promotion, very less increment, peanut size bonus.

Pro: 1. Excellent team culture, always appreciative and friendly environment 2. Flexible work hours. No strict timings. 3. Hybrid mode of work. 2-3 days in office / week.

Dislikes

Cons: 1. Poor appraisals and promotions 2. Too much approvals and MBA controlled, no freedom to explore as a technical person. 3. People have almost zero technical knowledge. Specially the mid level.

Dislikes

No job security, easy layoffs PwC digital is having so much of micro management. Opportunities, hikes and promotions are based on the good relationship if you have with your manager Poor concept of coach and RL Poor recognition of hard work

Work life balance is for a toss. No matter what you do and how many appreciations you receive you are expected to slog the next day equally. Not because someone is pushing you but because you know there is no back up and instead of piling things, it's best it's get done riright away. 1 manager should at least have 3 team mates but here they give 1 shared resource and it becomes a vicious cycle of work stress....Read More
