Salary was really good. Perks like accommodation, Electricity and 24hrs water supply free of cost. In campus good Canteen, general stores. Strict work timing as per the contract. Time to time celebrations creating a friendly environment for the employees.

Dislikes

TOO MUCH politics inside the company. Rude behaviour of (Some) Permanent employees to Contract workers, temporary workers. In charges not speaking up for you safety or not taking your side even if you are right just because you are a temporary worker/on contract. Unions work for the permanent workers and not for the contact based people.

NTPC GE doesnt deserve any Likes. This company has no policies of its own and has no work culture. people doing 12-14 hrs shift still company dont bother to employees welfare. NTPC name ruins by this company.

its a contractual company who doesnt have any rights to take decision and think about welfare of employees. NTPC higher officials who work under NTPC GE are nothing but slave to the client. Don't fall under NTPC name trap and Join such foolish company.

As per herzberg two factor theory, ntpc takes well care of hygienic factors. The factors that are quantifiable, tangible and require policy intervention, but fails miserably in motivational factors, that require plant level implementation of recommended policies

Dislikes

Poor implementation of policies. Top management at plant level sorely lacks people management skills. Lack of two way communication. Majority of the policies that primarily affect employees deployed at plants are framed by the employees in corporate who are either utterly oblivious of the requirements or deliberately ignore. HR practices at plant level are akin to what are considered dysfunctional in academic HR community, and have been obsolete since 1980s....Read More

1-Terrible work life balance. 2- No fixed policy regarding promotions, appraisal, transfers. Everything is dependent on how much you can butter up seniors rather than your work. 3- The amount of stress involved in daily work is too much

Job security and medical is the only reason someone will stay for the NTPC.

Dislikes

PMS and promition system is completely bogus. There is no relation to your talent or work contributions. The choosen few will rise irrespective of how dumb they might be.

Having spent my entire career at NTPC, I can say that the company has all the attributes for making you a complete professional in all aspects of your life journey and is not limited to Technical skills only. It will enable you to become a good human being and an asset to society.

Dislikes

Sometimes the appraisal systems lose their objectivity and places more value on self promotion and advertising.
