It was a total Lala company. Highly community biased for everything from recruitment to daily work. Only Marwaris or other Rajasthanis were preferred as employees and business partners. All others were seen as "foreigners". Local management at Gwalior factory (Head Office too) was extremely unprofessional and it ran like a rudderless ship. Waiters in canteen used to seek bribes for various odd jobs. Managers were supposed to do workers' odd jobs like lifting heavy textile yarns and pushing hand carts while workers used to sleep while on duty. VP (Operations) used to push gray cloth trolleys to further processing physically for almost 6 hours out of his 10 hourly work schedule. Whimsical increments and promotions were given. Most managers could not not communicate properly in English, spoke poor Hindi. Many of them were matriculates only. Executive President the top man interfered in almost every work. There was no reporting structure, poor seating arrangement. One landline phone was supposed to be shared by 4 Zonal sales manager.
