If you are lucky to get into Services Deliveries or a stable project you all set for success. But if you land into some pilot which is simply scaling up, welcome to a start ups culture. In stable projects you have a pathway to success, you will be measured on u our KPIs. Leadership is focused for your goals as well. Its a lean structure, no bands, as usual promotions and IJPs are easy for apple polishers. You can retire in Gartner if you are lucky to get into the correct vertical....Read More

Service Advisors was my experience not a good one. Management keeps on judging people under one light. So the structure is supposed to be lean at Gartner with no Bands and accessible hierarchies but there will be layers imposed and unfortunately by the senior management. You will be judged by a group of Ties 1 pazsouts having 2-3 years experience. It's all like a startup culture. Like a Takishis castle. Many pilots, many boat laoads, you have no clue when you get roped into different pilots basis the project owners discretions. Project Owners are the Business Analyts (BAs) and Senior Business Analyst who are only there to make presentations and get into calls with Stakeholders. They are never going to do the ground work, never own up in discrepancies. Finally they would decide if you are performing or not. Even if you have a manager the BAs feedback is going to decide your fate. Parity will again be an issue, if you are not from a Tier 1, the educational apartheid is never gonna help you get a promotion even if you have a decades experience. If you want to become a BA join as a BA not levels down....Read More

Work Details

Like Nomad, toggling between pilots. Slogging for 14 hours only to end up getting successful ratings and see my peers getting promoted. My functional manager can not rate me during my appraisals..ironically Admin boss decides ratings.

Work days: Monday to Friday (Strict Timings)

Salary expectations from Gartner?

Update: I've been offered 7LPA - which is lower than their quoted budget - which they shared immediately after asking me my previous salary 😄 I'm going to negotiate for more - what do y'all think? I've 10 YOE editing for academia and clients from a wide range of industries. I'm about to give an interview for Gartner to edit their technical copy - will require a fair amount of work. This is a full-time, regular role but remote. My career has mostly been as a freelancer, so I'm wondering - what would be the industry standard for an editor at a marketing consultancy with 10 YOE?
