The organization has helped me grow and recognize my areas of strength in the last two years that I worked here. I have been a part of a really encouraging team not only in the programs that I was a part of but also the entire city team. I was able to explore my style and my interests in teaching autonomously but was also given support wherever I needed it. I was working under two programs and thus under two program managers both who really made sure to check in on how I was doing both professionally and personally in my physical and mental health. AT the same time I learnt many new things that I could take to class through the trainings. Dislikes

The only downside I observe is the low accessibility on getting hired as a full time employee. I wanted to be a full time Teaching Artist for EL but that opportunity never really came around during the time that I did work here.

Work Details

I was required to teach children concepts of music and eventually use what they had learnt to enable them to write a song of their own. I was also required to teach motor skills and problem solving using LEGO.
