1. No work life balance as most of the projects have tight deadlines and people end up working 12 to 14 hours a day. 2. Micromanagement in some of the projects.

Worst work management, all they need is work to be done irrespective of knowledge you had, if your are a java developer, they'll ask you write code in php and get it done ASAP. They say they'll follow agile methodology but in reality they follow spreadsheets and no billable hours given until you asked 100 times, in the mean time you'll get senior leader mails for not maintaining proper timesheets. I joined Deloitte way back in 2017 when the talent pool was great. Now it's just another WITCH company and you can easily guess basis the talent they are hiring. (No offence)

Dislikes

Instead of doing mass layoffs, they'll resort to cheap tricks and techniques for the employees to fall into their trap and then let them go. In one instance, they deliberately exposed their performance APIs for the curious ones to notice. And a few months later, they fired all of them citing compiance. Additionally, they'll ask theteam managers to nominate few low hanging fruits from their team to nominate them for PIP, which ultimately leads to termination. The entire consulting is at the mercy of the sales/marketing and they are pushy as hell. With the advent of GenAI, sales team has been spreading magic to the customers and expect developers to come up with solutions in record time. They'll try to pass of MVP as proper builds and when the dev teams actually come up with reasonable technical challenges, they'll in turn blame the competency of the team. Nothing, all managers are indian and it's typical indian company with high politics.

Dislikes

Even you work hard, it's not appropriated also if you help some one rather than who is helping other person who is getting help is appreciated. As indian company tremendous politics towards ratings and favouritism is at very high level.

Deloitte Consulting being my first company will always hold a special place in my heart. I learnt everything I could for my career here, had the best managers, good work life balance (as much as can be expected in IT Consulting), competitive salaries and lots of learning opportunities.

Dislikes

Depending on project / client, work hours could stretch past normal consistently and some weekend work would be required (1 / 2 weeks per month).. Promotions for senior resources have lot of additional extra curriculars expected even if your project is demanding which delays promotions to managerial roles.

Dislikes

Most young and talented engineers sometimes misused and overworked in the name of client expectations and unnecessary meetings. Management is so old school and completely out of place considering the modern technologies and the growth of AI.

Work culture in External Audit - analyst have to work with Engagement Team (CA team) for audit and not every ET is good, some ET are horrible they don't even allow WFH and give any work which analysts are not supposed to do. 2. The issue for time booking and utilisation. If your Team don't have much projects there will be problem of low utilisation, which is considered at the time of your appraisal. 3. If analyst deployed to any client then everything will be according to Engagement team. Even the promotion is also in their hands so you have to maintain good relationship with them (which is difficult because of their useless CA attitude) 4. Cafeteria is not good.
