1. No work life balance as most of the projects have tight deadlines and people end up working 12 to 14 hours a day. 2. Micromanagement in some of the projects.

Worst work management, all they need is work to be done irrespective of knowledge you had, if your are a java developer, they'll ask you write code in php and get it done ASAP. They say they'll follow agile methodology but in reality they follow spreadsheets and no billable hours given until you asked 100 times, in the mean time you'll get senior leader mails for not maintaining proper timesheets. The work culture is very toxic when it comes to Deloitte India. The management will hire you for your skillsets and then place you in a role which is totally not related to you and then they won't even help you out or listen to you.

I joined Deloitte way back in 2017 when the talent pool was great. Now it's just another WITCH company and you can easily guess basis the talent they are hiring. (No offence)

Dislikes

Instead of doing mass layoffs, they'll resort to cheap tricks and techniques for the employees to fall into their trap and then let them go. In one instance, they deliberately exposed their performance APIs for the curious ones to notice. And a few months later, they fired all of them citing compiance. Additionally, they'll ask theteam managers to nominate few low hanging fruits from their team to nominate them for PIP, which ultimately leads to termination. The entire consulting is at the mercy of the sales/marketing and they are pushy as hell. With the advent of GenAI, sales team has been spreading magic to the customers and expect developers to come up with solutions in record time. They'll try to pass of MVP as proper builds and when the dev teams actually come up with reasonable technical challenges, they'll in turn blame the competency of the team. For candidates upto consultant level its great place to be.. you get to develop your skills both technical and interpersonal. Algo great fir manager level folks. not so good for senior engineers.. you will mostly be stuck in promotion race, politics, limited technical skills development

Nothing, all managers are indian and it's typical indian company with high politics.

Dislikes

Even you work hard, it's not appropriated also if you help some one rather than who is helping other person who is getting help is appreciated. As indian company tremendous politics towards ratings and favouritism is at very high level.

No OPE even when I travelled 40 kms daily Unrealistic commitments to the client Asking us to work on all 7 days Escalation mails in case one tries to be vocal Threating of termination Zero appreciation Managers calling at 22 - 23 hours and asking to join teams call I had a pathetic time at Deloitte and had to leave in few months.

Risk Advisory is really a good role to be in. You will learn a good good deal. Highly recommend.

I know how work pressure is perceived to be in Big4s but to be honest in my function (Risk Advisory), it was not bad, see there would be months when you would be completely occupied and working round the clock but there would also be months where you would spent time relaxed working from the place you want.

The firm provides good job security and a hectic work schedule for some folks and a very sedentry schedule for others.

Dislikes

The promotions are deferred by giving BS reasons. The work will never make you satisfied and your overall performance will majorly depend on the people managing you. Moreover, you cannot choose to work on what would actually align to your desirablilty. It will be based on what they have a demand for.

Great infrastructure and talented pool of people. Better than other consulting firms interms of payscale and promotions.

Dislikes

Most young and talented engineers sometimes misused and overworked in the name of client expectations and unnecessary meetings. Management is so old school and completely out of place considering the modern technologies and the growth of AI.
