Leadership in freefall : even executives are switched out like changing light bulbs. Yet the office and employees remain in the dark. Micromanagement Hub: this is not a GCC anymore, it’s a GSC or BPO. Everyday is like an opera or puppet show by the onshore using offshore pawns. No robust tech stack, it keeps changing just like the job roles, Now they are behind AI, it just started and they want AI professionals with 20 year experience. Job security is like playing Russian roulette. Even SR and executive management aren’t spared from the sudden redundancies. Bottom feeders thrive through circus shows in the name of fun at office, fun factory, Fun committee, fun league etc. there are people earning quite a sizeable amount for doing this. But then again they are in desperation. Latest buzzwords are Code commit: even SR executives have to commit codes, it’s like asking Literature professors to write A-Z daily for in small letters and caps for 5 times. And another one is work hard party hard, which sounds like work hard, slog harder and we’ll make you role redundancy retention the hardest. The party part is when you’ll be frustrated and wouldn’t mind getting sloshed in even in a local bar.. Well, comm bank is newly set up in India. They are still struggling to transition projects from Australia. If things doesn't go with there way, they can release you immediately. I am the prime example of this. Our entire team has been laid off recently. They believe in hire and fire rules. No one can predict the future in comm bank specifically in India.

Dislikes

The environment is very toxic and I am not even kidding. People from ANZ regretting their decision after joining Commonwealth India. They said atleast we had job security in ANZ but here they can fire you anyday so whoever is joining make sure you give 100 percent everyday. Everyday means you have to give everyday.

The work life balance is decent. Middle management is good and supportive.

Dislikes

The culture in operations is borderline toxic. They'll give you a bunch of additional work which will impact your core KPI and won't even give you diverts for it. Some people in senior management (Indian) seem to favor people from one religious group in particular

No proper facilities, They neglect basic requirements for the employees If you just want money and want to commit carrier suicide then you can join here. No growth in regards to carrier aspects and their competition doesn't even wanna hire you If you feel something is not right and when you speak up you will be pulled down and will be punished for speaking up. Keep quite and do the work even if it means duplication of efforts or it will be something good for the organisation. Logic doesn't work over here, they say they want curious mindset but they will kill your curiosity the moment you join the company. They throw around things like performance improvement plans like it's nothing. For eg a person got an error for one month the very next month they got put into PIP. They want people to work like robots and they also check your break timings pulling reports how long you are away from the system. One person even got a heart attack with the pressure and they quite the company because of health complications. Trust me it's not worth it. CBA India team is treated like a vendor. Toxic work culture. Everything is controlled by Sydney team. All important work is owned by Sydney team. India team is given monotonous, clerical kind of work only to make them feel worthless and unproductive. Anyone who tries to take a stand is humiliated in front of the entire team deliberately. No difference in work of a 5 yeo and 15 yeo. Its said that BA and testing profile is becoming redundant and people have to either leave or take up development task. So employees in certain times they feel like very much insecured at their job. Management will keep some program for making employee themself to leave the job wherein they ll bring talented candidate to feel not confident . Root cause of this culture: 1.Local management takes no ownership of resources. 2.Employees fear retaliation to say no to unrealistic timeline set by Australia counter part. 3.There is unofficial competition between teams( product owner) in Australia to deliver more for their growth.
