Good working culture among similar service based company. CTC is straight forward almost like a product based company where fixed component is more and variable component is less Good team and good development projects compared to support projects in other companies Good work life balance

Dislikes

Hikes and promotion are not good. Recent policy changes are not employee friendly Golden days of Cognizant over once Francisco D’Souza tenure as CEO ended

Stability is good. Though in the ongoing global recession, many of my co-workers had to leave projects because of project ramp down and did not get any other projects. Instead of recruiting employees from bench in other projects they are hiring more from people outside.

Dislikes

Appraisal is bad. So joining with low salary does not help much in the long run, better to switch.

Work depends upon what project you get. Had a chance to work on a small project from scratch.

Work timings are pathetic. You work at your regular timings and still have to login later for client calls. In my case mostly extending till midnight. The hybrid culture here is totally unproductive. Upper management is worse, expects you to be available anytime for calls.

The list is endless. Poor management of accounts. They give importance only to clients but not to resources. Resources are treated like third class citizens. Lots of micro management in certain projects. Scrum masters are the biggest culprits in certain projects, they say they are backing the resources but they keep trying to impress only the clients. Too many things to dislike. Zero transperancy in their hiring. Nodal point transport which can be anywhere from 2-5 km radius. 10 hrs shifts and with cab travel, it's 14 hrs shift. Rapid hire and fire company. You get no compensation and have 30 days to find a new job.

It's MNC so work load is not much and you get nice architecture office and locality

They lay off when they don't have projects. They are over hired and less projects left with them.. you won't feel the pain but they will somehow kick you out if they don't need you... they might give you salary for 2 or 3 months to keep the mouth shut but they will lay off you silently

Few members of the global large deals team are worse. Priya raghav and Ashwini rathore doesn't know how to talk to people. Ashwini even talked about my family very rudely. I would suggest don't join cognizant. Even if you join, don't join the global large deals team. Your life will be miserable.

Well it's a very good place to loose your mind and and peace. With the best 10 hours work culture and no benefits. And the best thing is the ratings they give depends on their personal choice and mood and the best part is once the rating is given it cannot be disputed. And unexpected promotions which will be given to others. Eg if A works hard B will get the promotion. Based on favouritism.

Cognizant bench policy is bad, they give less days to get yourself into a project. Also salary hike is low.
