It is a great company to start career in development consulting. It has two sister organizations named Swasti and Vrutti which are well know development agencies in India respectively in the field of public health and agriculture & livelihoods. This gives opportunity for working on projects on multiple themes. Better organization from learning point of view for beginners. But not good to stay for more than two years. Overall organization culture is good. It is good primarily due to the founders being involved in the organization. However, middle management is weak. It is the top management and their inspirational efforts that is taking the organization forward. Career growth wise it is good for beginners but not for making a long term career in the company. Appraisal process is ambiguous and unclear. Salary hike is unpredictable (shifting parameters with time and people and people who are appraising). Travel will be there as it will part of the job. Work life balance is poor. Six days working and no time limits for work daily. However, one good thing is that there are no card punching obligations and there are options for work from home. Poor work life balance. In fact poor work life integration. Innovation at work is limited to being guided by Google and by the company mentors. Middle management layer is weak. Lack of proper HR personnel is one of the most notable absence in the organization. Career growth in long term will become stagnant. Scope for mobilization is limited if one stays in the company for long.
