No job security - recently our senior manager was laid off. There are many people from our team was laid off. No promotion Increments are not to the market standards The work culture is not good, as all major decisions are made solely by the US manager.

So many things has changed. Too much of cost cutting. Sodaxo card benifit has been discontinued, CCD machines has been removed, laying off the employees. Poor transport service in which employees are stuffed like anything on back seat. Right now people are working here because there is no other option.

Many perks they facilitate employees are really good and best in industry. You will get lot to learn and improve your skills which will help to scale your career growth in IT space.

Dislikes

You never know when you will be shown the way out. Salary appraisals and promotion decisions were not discussed with the reporting managers before the decisions has been made. You have to spend lot of your time in meetings.

Full support from manager, onshore stake holder, no micro management, manager and stake holder have trust that job will done once assigned, timely recognition, year end bonus is awesome and year end hikes are good, you will get a chance to work on different asset classes from time to time and you can built good rapport with different stake holders across different regions.

There's nothing to like at BNY. There's so much politics that when the layoff happens they will save the employees who are from Chennai even if you are much more skilled.

Politics, no salary increment for 3 years, expect you to work for more than 12 hrs a day.

In certain teams, including my own, managers and senior leadership (VPs, AVPs) seem to overlook or dismiss employee feedback, which can create frustration and disengagement. A structured feedback mechanism, where employee concerns are genuinely acknowledged and acted upon, could significantly improve team morale and productivity. Additionally, promotion decisions should be more transparent and merit-based, ensuring that individuals who consistently contribute, innovate, and understand their roles are recognized and rewarded. The company is going through a lot of senior leadership changes. Favoritism starts at the top, senior leadership having acquaintances with colleagues from JP and Morgan Stanley have taken over and existing ppl are being discarded in a dishonest fashion. There is a sense of insecurity across the floor. And senior leaders are not doing enough to pass on a sense of security (I think they are trying to save their own positions and somewhere got lost) I have heard lot of stories, people being told to leave the bank. As a knock on effect of it, lot of good resources have moved out on their own. Overall, culture is the most important thing that drives employees performance and defines goodwill of the organisation.
