DeepSeek: The AI Disruptor Shaking Up Nvidia's $2T Empire

Curious about DeepSeek's game-changing AI innovations? Here’s why they’re shaking up the AI world (and Nvidia's $2T market cap): Training AI models today costs $100M+ and needs massive data centers. DeepSeek? They’re doing it for $5M with models rivaling GPT-4 and Claude. How? By rethinking everything: Efficiency first: 75% less memory usage. Speed matters: Phrases > words = 2x faster, 90% as accurate. Expert system: 37B parameters active vs. 1.8T. Results? Training cost: $100M → $5M GPUs: 100K → 2K API costs: 95% cheaper, runs on gaming GPUs! And it’s open-source. This disrupts "big tech only" AI, making it accessible and affordable. Nvidia’s high-margin GPU model faces serious heat. This feels like when PCs disrupted mainframes—AI just got a lot smarter, faster, and cheaper. Inflection point or just a blip?

Wow, $5M vs. $100M for training costs is insane!🤷‍♂️ If this scales, it’s a game-changer. But do you think this will really challenge Nvidia’s hold on the GPU market? They’re still the go-to for so much of the AI infrastructure.

Isn't that the natural progression of any technology? Initially, a basic version appears to solve all problems, but then shortcomings are identified and addressed, costs are reduced, and efficiency is improved. With AI, however, these advancements are occurring at a remarkably fast pace.
