Recto says no need to certify bills on LANDBANK, DBP charters as urgent
- Measures to amend the charters of LANDBANK and DBP do not need to be certified as urgent, according to Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto.
- Both state-run lenders, LANDBANK and DBP, are well-capitalized and likely to have the bills passed by Congress in the coming months.
- The Finance department is pushing for Congressional approval to strengthen the financial position of both state-run banks.
- The LANDBANK bills propose to increase its capitalization to P1 trillion, while the DBP's new charter aims to raise the bank's authorized capital stock to P300 billion.
