Senior Site Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Supervision & Coordination:

• Oversee construction work and ensure that it is progressing as per the project specifications.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and construction teams.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety standards are being adhered to.
• Coordinate with contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers for smooth project execution.

2. Project Planning & Scheduling:

• Assist in developing project schedules and milestones, ensuring that deadlines are met.
• Monitor construction progress and provide regular updates to the project manager.
• Identify and resolve any delays or potential issues proactively.

3. Technical Support:

• Provide technical guidance and problem-solving expertise for on-site challenges.
• Ensure that all materials, tools, and equipment used comply with project specifications and quality standards.
• Review and approve construction designs, drawings, and specifications.

4. Quality Control:

• Ensure that all construction work meets required quality standards and complies with legal regulations and safety codes.
• Implement quality control procedures and conduct inspections at key stages of the project.

5. Health, Safety, and Compliance:

• Enforce health and safety protocols on-site and ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform risk assessments and ensure that the site is compliant with environmental and safety regulations.

6. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress photos, and material usage logs.
• Prepare and submit progress reports to management, including any challenges or changes to the scope of work.

7. Budget & Cost Control:

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and ensure that construction costs stay within the allocated budget.
• Monitor and control site expenses, ensuring efficient use of materials and resources.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 58 years of experience in construction engineering, with at least 2–3 years in a senior site engineering role.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction management software, AutoCAD, and other relevant engineering tools.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in construction or site management (e.g., NEBOSH, PMP) are advantageous.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to lead teams, delegate tasks, and ensure that work is done efficiently and to a high standard.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time, on-site role.
• Site-based, with potential travel to different construction locations.
• May require occasional evening/weekend work depending on project deadlines
