Job Summary

WN Infotech is looking for an experienced Commerce Platform Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our advanced e-commerce platform. This role is essential for building, optimizing, and scaling a platform that powers high-traffic commerce applications, delivering seamless and reliable shopping experiences. As a Commerce Platform Software Engineer, you will work on creating efficient backend systems, integrating third-party payment solutions, enhancing transaction security, and enabling features that drive user engagement and sales.

You will have the opportunity to shape the platforms architecture and build modules that support product catalogs, shopping carts, order processing, and user management. With a focus on high availability, low latency, and robust performance, this role requires a deep understanding of backend development, API integration, database optimization, and security practices. Candidates should have a passion for creating scalable commerce solutions and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Commerce Platform Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Platform Development: Build and maintain backend components for the commerce platform, ensuring they are scalable, resilient, and efficient.
API and Third-Party Integration: Integrate APIs from payment gateways, logistics providers, and other third-party services to ensure smooth and secure transaction processing.
Database Design and Optimization: Develop, manage, and optimize databases for high-performance data retrieval, efficient storage, and seamless transaction handling.
Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices to protect user data and comply with standards such as PCI-DSS for secure payment processing.
Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor, test, and optimize the platform for performance and load handling to deliver a smooth user experience, even during peak traffic.
Feature Development: Design and implement core features such as product catalog, shopping cart, order management, and user accounts to improve platform functionality.
Troubleshooting and Debugging: Diagnose and resolve platform issues, using debugging tools to ensure system stability and reliability.
Collaboration with Frontend Teams: Work closely with frontend developers to provide APIs and ensure a seamless integration between frontend and backend for an optimal user experience.
Documentation and Best Practices: Document system architecture, processes, and workflows, while adhering to development best practices and coding standards.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Backend Development: Strong experience with server-side languages such as Node.js, Python, or Java for building scalable backend solutions.

API Development and Integration: Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs and experience with API integrations, including payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal) and third-party services.

Database Management: Advanced skills in relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), including query optimization and indexing.

E-commerce Security Practices: Knowledge of e-commerce security protocols, particularly PCI-DSS compliance for safe transaction processing.

Performance Tuning: Experience in performance tuning, caching strategies, and handling high-volume requests to maintain fast response times.

Microservices and Containerization: Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) for developing modular and scalable applications.

Version Control and CI/CD: Experience with Git for version control and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) for automated deployments.

Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical skills to diagnose issues and resolve them efficiently for continuous platform reliability.

Qualification & Experience Required

Educational Background: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
Freshers with strong academic projects or internships in e-commerce or backend development are encouraged to apply.
Experienced candidates should have 3+ years in e-commerce platform development, backend engineering, or software engineering roles.
Certifications (Preferred): Certifications in e-commerce development, backend engineering, or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) are a plus.
