Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Change Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of the IT change management process within our organization. The Change Manager will be responsible for ensuring that changes to IT services and infrastructure are executed efficiently, minimizing service disruption, and maximizing value. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles, particularly ITIL, and hands-on experience in change management processes within a fast-paced IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Change Management Process Ownership:
    • Own and continuously improve the Change Management process, ensuring compliance with ITSM best practices and frameworks, specifically ITIL.
    • Manage the end-to-end change lifecycle, from initiation through implementation to post-change review, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining service availability.
    • Facilitate regular Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to review and approve/reject changes.
    • Ensure that changes are appropriately categorized, prioritized, and assessed for risk and impact.
  • Change Planning & Scheduling:
    • Plan and schedule changes in coordination with stakeholders to avoid conflicts and minimize business impact.
    • Ensure effective communication of upcoming changes to stakeholders and users.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure readiness for scheduled changes (e.g., infrastructure, network, security, development, etc.).
    • Develop and manage change schedules and implement blackout periods, ensuring critical systems are not impacted during peak business hours.
  • Risk and Impact Assessment:
    • Assess the potential risk and impact of changes to existing IT services, systems, and business operations.
    • Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with proposed changes, ensuring appropriate backup and rollback plans are in place.
    • Ensure that impact and risk assessments are thoroughly documented and communicated to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as the key point of contact for all change-related communication, ensuring all relevant parties are informed of scheduled changes, disruptions, or issues.
    • Collaborate with IT teams, business units, and external vendors to ensure that change implementations are aligned with business goals.
    • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and leadership teams, providing regular updates on the status and outcomes of change initiatives.
  • Change Reporting & Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all changes, including approvals, risk assessments, implementation details, and post-implementation reviews.
    • Produce regular reports on change management metrics, such as change success rates, failure rates, and trends.
    • Provide post-change analysis to evaluate the success of implemented changes and recommend improvements for future changes.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Evaluate and continuously improve change management processes and tools to drive efficiency, increase automation, and enhance effectiveness.
    • Conduct root cause analysis of failed changes and lead corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
    • Stay current on industry best practices, new tools, and technologies related to change management and ITSM.
  • Compliance & Auditing:
    • Ensure that all changes comply with internal policies, industry regulations, and security standards.
    • Audit change management processes and documentation to ensure compliance with organizational and external standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • Proven experience (5+ years) in IT change management, with a strong focus on ITSM (preferably ITIL) and change management processes.
    • Experience working with change management tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or similar platforms.
    • Demonstrated experience managing change processes across large, complex IT environments.
    • Experience facilitating CAB meetings and coordinating with cross-functional teams for change implementations.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Deep understanding of ITSM processes and frameworks (particularly ITIL) with hands-on experience in change management.
    • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Ability to assess risk and impact and make decisions based on business priorities.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to process management.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and change management software.
  • Education & Certifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
    • ITIL Foundation certification (ITIL v3 or ITIL 4) is required; ITIL Practitioner or Change Management certification is a plus.
    • Additional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or ITSM tools are advantageous.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Fluency in English is required (additional languages may be advantageous depending on the region).
