Looking for a Vice President - Finance and Accounts to be based out of Bangalore
Experience in B2C e-commerce companies
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business growth and scalability
- Be an effective 'checker' of sound financial management practices and aligning with the business goals.
- Oversee cash flow management and optimize capital availability to aid growth and rapid scale-up.
- Manage treasury operations, short-term investments, relationship with lenders, repayment obligations, maintain healthy leverage levels
2. Accounting /Financial Reporting
- Lead month-end and year-end accounts closing process.
- Ensure 100% readiness at all times for financial or legal or compliance due-diligence by lenders and investors
- Establishing and enforce accounting policies& Flag-off non compliances to CEO/Leadership in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with auditors and other stakeholders to ensure clean audits and quick closure of audit processes.
3. Relationships with Investors
- Preparing and presenting detailed financial updates and forecasts to investors on monthly basis.
- Providing all required assistance to the CEO/Founders to actively identify and pursue fundraising opportunities.
- Developing compelling financial narratives and investor communication strategies.
- Assisting the investors and their DD teams to conduct due diligence & Also aid in closing transaction documents.
- Represent the company's financial health and performance in investor meetings and forums
4. Compliance to Statutory & Regulatory Requirements
- Setting up & managing FPA process and implementation of necessary internal controls/SOPs
- Ensuring compliance with tax regulations, corporate laws, requirements as per SHA
- Building monthly budgeted financial statements (Accounting P&L, B/S, CF) & perform a comparative assessment of budget vs actuals.
- Monitoring key financial & accounting metrics, publish monthly MIS/Dashboards on financials, providing actionable insights to the CEO/Head-BizFin.
- Automating financial reporting processes and leverage including identifying and implementing most suited ERP solution.
- Monitoring evolving regulations and implementing necessary changes to financial practices.
- To be on top of quick-commerce / e-commerce-specific regulatory requirements and ensure alignment.
5 . Financial Health & Compliance.
- Building a risk-aware culture, assist the Leadership/Business teams in building robust fraud prevention mechanisms in the business
- Building processes and tools to scale up the organization, ensuring we are building for the future and building to be 'always ahead of the curve'
- Training and coaching business and operating functions on best financial process-compliance practices.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or equivalent advanced degree in finance or accounting.
Experience:
- Min 12+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong background in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience in managing complex budgets and multi-departmental teams.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Advanced knowledge of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and business analytics tools.
