Cloud Engineer - Google Cloud Platform (4-5 yrs)

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cloud Engineer with a specialization in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our growing DevOps team.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure on GCP.

You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our cloud environment, while also driving innovation and exploring new cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure on GCP, including Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), subnets, firewalls, routing, load balancing, and VPNs.

- Optimize network performance and ensure seamless connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.

- Implement network security best practices to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.

- Ensure the availability, scalability, and performance of our cloud systems on GCP.

- Monitor cloud resources and proactively address performance bottlenecks or potential issues.

- Implement cost optimization strategies by analyzing cloud usage and identifying areas for improvement.

- Adhere to compliance and security standards, ensuring that our cloud environment meets all regulatory requirements.

- Develop and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss and ensure business continuity.

- Implement automated backup and recovery processes.

- Regularly test disaster recovery plans to ensure their effectiveness.

- Research and evaluate new cloud technologies and services offered by GCP.

- Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies to improve our cloud infrastructure and optimize costs.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP features and best practices.

- Automate cloud operations tasks using scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to manage and provision cloud resources.

- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Cloud Build.

- Design, implement, and manage API gateways for secure and efficient API access.

- Integrate cloud services and applications using APIs.

- Manage and orchestrate containerized applications using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

- Implement container deployment and scaling strategies.

- Collaborate effectively with development, operations, and security teams.

- Communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications :

Essential :

- 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering or a related role, with a strong focus on GCP.

- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).

- Deep understanding of GCP services and features, including networking, compute, storage, security, and monitoring.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, Cloud Build).

- Knowledge of security and compliance best practices in the cloud.

- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
