Windows System Administrator - Active Directory (5-8 yrs)

Job Overview :

The Wintel level 2 engineer is responsible for providing advanced technical support and troubleshooting for Windows Server and desktop environments.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of Microsoft technologies, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities :

- Scripting : Automate routine tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell or VBScript to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

- Advanced Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to Windows Server operating systems (all versions), Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other related technologies.

- Desktop Support : Provide advanced support for Windows workstations, including software installations, application troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

- Virtualization : Experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualization technologies, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of virtual machines.

- Security : Implement and maintain security best practices, including security patching, vulnerability assessments, and access control measures.

- Documentation : Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations.

- Proactive Monitoring : Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement preventative measures to minimize downtime.

- Project Involvement : Participate in infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.

- Collaboration : Work closely with other IT teams (e., network, storage, security) to resolve complex issues and ensure smooth system operations.

- On-Call Support : Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed.

Technical Skills :

- Strong proficiency in Windows Server operating systems (all versions).

- Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows Server services.

- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V).

- Scripting experience with PowerShell or VBScript.

- Working knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, subnetting, routing).

- Experience with cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) (preferred).

- Familiarity with ITIL best practices (preferred).

Qualifications :

- Education : Graduation in Computers/Electronics, or a related field (preferred).

- Experience : 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting Windows Server environments.
