Job Summary:

The Mould and Tool Manufacturing Head will be responsible for leading the design, development, and manufacturing of high-precision moulds and tools for production. This role requires expertise in mould design, tool manufacturing, process optimization, and innovation in product development. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Injection Mould & Sheet Metal Tool Development:

• Lead the design, development, and manufacturing of injection moulds, press tools, and die-casting moulds.
• Ensure the selection of appropriate materials, processes, and techniques for efficient tool life and performance.
• Review and approve mould designs, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.

2. Process Optimization & Manufacturing:

• Supervise tool room operations, including machining, assembly, and trial runs of moulds.
• Optimize machining parameters and production processes to reduce cycle times and improve efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, minimizing defects and rework.

3. R&D and Innovation:

• Develop new moulding technologies, automation solutions, and advanced tooling techniques.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new product development and material selection.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in mould and tool design.

4. Team Leadership & Vendor Management:

• Lead a team of tool designers, machinists, and engineers to ensure smooth project execution.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for procurement of tooling materials, inserts, and machining services.
• Train and mentor the team in latest mould design technologies and manufacturing best practices.

5. Quality Control & Cost Management:

• Conduct mould trials, validations, and troubleshooting to ensure defect-free production.
• Implement cost-effective tooling solutions and optimize mould maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve tooling-related issues.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in mould and tool design & manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or Creo.
• Strong understanding of injection moulding, die casting, stamping, and machining processes.
• Knowledge of advanced tooling materials, coatings, and cooling systems.
• Experience in handling CNC machining, EDM, wire-cutting, and grinding operations.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage teams and cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in automation and Industry 4.0 applications in tool manufacturing.
• Exposure to Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen methodologies.
• Knowledge of ERP and PLM systems for tool and mould management.
