About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grant Manager to join our team. The Grant Manager will oversee the management of grants provided to non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and other parties as deemed fit, ensuring accountability and effective use of resources.
The Grant Manager will be working directly with the founder and benefactor of the foundation, helping the principal execute his vision and build out the foundation. This role involves working closely with grantees to monitor their progress, facilitate reporting, evaluate the impact of our funding, and overseeing internal stakeholder reporting.
Responsibilities:
1. Grant Oversight: Manage the grant lifecycle, from application review and selection to funding disbursement and post-grant evaluation.
2. Reporting and Compliance: Ensure grantees adhere to reporting requirements, timelines, and financial guidelines, and working with relevant teams to understand financial, compliance, and tax implications of donations. Analyze reports to assess progress and outcomes.
3. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with nonprofit organizations, universities, providing support and guidance as needed to optimize project implementation.
4. Network Building: Candidate will be expected to create a network and repository of all beneficiaries of grants/scholarships, ensuring thoughtful and continued engagement during and post- engagement.
5. Performance Evaluation: Develop metrics and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of funded projects and make recommendations for future funding decisions.
6. Capacity Building: Assist grantees in understanding reporting requirements and best practices for effective program implementation.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare internal reports for foundation leadership, summarizing grant activities, financial expenditures, and overall impact.
8. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving the grant management process and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements:
1. Strong understanding of nonprofit operations and funding mechanisms.
2. Willingness to travel
3. Proficient in grant management and Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail in evaluating financial reports and project outcomes.
5. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build trust with diverse stakeholders.
Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, public administration, social sciences, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
2. 3-5 years of experience in grant management, nonprofit program management, or a related area.
