Key Responsibilities :
- Efficiently lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Ocean Freight Department.
- Oversee all aspects of ocean freight import and export shipments, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement within the department.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and corporate clients.
- Proactively engage with clients to understand their shipping needs and provide customized solutions.
- Address client inquiries and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
- Focus on customer satisfaction and retention.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with overseas network partners for nomination shipments.
- Explore and pursue new business opportunities within the ocean freight market.
- Actively participate in business development activities and contribute to revenue growth.
- Monitor and ensure timely responses to all ocean import network queries on an all-India basis.
- Monitor and analyze business revenue generated through the Network Nomination desk in Mumbai.
- Ensure timely approvals of jobs within the Electronic Business Management System (EBMS).
- Provide guidance and support to team members on operational issues and challenges.
- Monitor and ensure the timely and accurate closure of all jobs within the EBMS system.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications :
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in international freight forwarding, with a strong focus on ocean freight operations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
Skills :
- Strong understanding of ocean freight operations, including import/export procedures, documentation, and international trade regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Proven ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve operational challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
Other:
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
