What does an In-stock manager do?
The Import/Export Specialist manages end-to-end operations, coordinates with vendors to reduce lead times, tracks shipments, and prepares import cost data. Requires 2+ years with Freight Forwarders and CHAs, plus knowledge of international trade compliance.
The ISA will work on a day-to-day basis to drive excel analytics internal / external to the category that drives all core operational metrics and take guidance / provide recommendations to ensure a high-bar on inbound utilization, smooth return operations and clear and concise communication to all partner teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing end to end operational work for both Imports and Exports
- Ensure 100% adherence of trade compliance local, state, and federal regulations related to international business
- Contract management of Quarterly with all service providers
- Negotiation with service providers to ensure import/export with economical freight rates
- Ensure on time payment to service providers and import vendors
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders on planning for selection expansion, deals in-stock management, event-readiness, supply-alignment for efficient inventory placement in alignment with business strategy.
- Driving service-levels for products on marketplaces by ensuring maximum product availability and coverage through accurate forecasting / demand planning and overseeing automated ordering & replenishments, capacity management through effective audits
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years in working with various Freight forwarders (FF), CHAs with understanding of local and international compliances (China, USA, KSA, UAE) for Export & Import shipments
- Understanding of product-level compliances with acumen to get into details for newer categories
- Ability to take decisions and trade-offs based in SLAs as well as cost to improve business profitability through bottom-line improvements in Logistics costs
- Demonstrated great negotiation skills with CHAs, FFs
