Procurement & Operations Head - Global Consulting Firm - Contractual (5-12 yrs)

Our client, a Global Consulting firm, is looking for an experienced Plant Head / Procurement Lead and Operations Head to drive manufacturing excellence, procurement efficiency, and operational effectiveness at key plant locations. The role requires a hands-on leader with deep experience in production management, supply chain optimisation, and process improvements in manufacturing industries like tires, paints, lubricants, and industrial goods

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee end-to-end plant operations, ensuring smooth production and efficiency

- Lead procurement functions, ensuring cost-effective sourcing and vendor management

- Optimise supply chain processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste

- Implement best practices in production planning, quality control, and safety compliance

- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and industry benchmarks.

- Monitor plant performance KPIs, identifying areas for improvement

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.

- Manage workforce and ensure high team engagement at plant locations

- Drive cost optimisation initiatives while maintaining quality and efficiency

Qualifications & Experience:

- 5-6 years of experience in manufacturing, plant operations, and procurement

- Prior experience in companies like paints, adhesives, lubricants, tires, electricals, and building materials is highly preferred

- Strong expertise in plant management, procurement strategies, and supply chain processes

- Bachelor's or Master's degree from a reputed institute (open to all if the experience is relevant)

- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and process improvement skills

- Strong analytical abilities and data-driven decision-making skills

Mandatory Skills:

- Proven expertise in manufacturing operations and plant/procurement management

- Strong knowledge of plant efficiency metrics and supply chain optimisation.

- Ability to lead teams and manage large-scale production processes

- Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing and cost reduction strategies

- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills

This is a 12-month contractual (extendable) opportunity. The consultant will be required to work on-site from both Mumbai and Kolkata locations for the entire duration of the project
