This role will be a key member of the Training Services Leadership team. The main purpose for this role is To improve seafarer competence by ensuring a consistent and high standard of training delivery across all Global Training Centre and collaborating with Crew Management to deliver the highest levels of compliance with the training matrix To improve customer value through high quality and transparent customer engagement, such as officer seminars To support 3rd party growth where necessary
Deliver training centre operations in line with agreed KPIs and quality, including but not limited to Sufficient course schedule to meet expectation and compliance Eg Leadership Development programme Application of IMTF grants to upgrade the TC facility Trainer utilization Positive engagement with Key Account of Training Service
Review existing procedures and processes for course planning scheduling, training delivery, officer seminar Review existing procedures and processes for course planning scheduling, training delivery, officer seminars and internal/external reporting Implement new procedures basis industry best practice Working in a matrix organization Collaborating with stakeholders Training Services / Crew Management / SHIPMAN
Improve crew competence Work with Head of Learning solutions to identify Training Needs Implement new learning programmes in the training centers consistently Monitor and advise on the impact of changes in statutory and regulatory requirements to ensure appropriate courses are developed and implemented within the required timescales Implement competence management system and make revisions based upon feedback Introduce best practice from across the maritime industry and other relevant industries
Support Crew Management compliance initiative Establish smart scheduling of training courses to ensure that schedule is representative of the demand Optimize utilization of the training enter equipment and trainer utilization to be able to make business decision
Quality of training Implement and maintain training centre accreditation ISO9001:2015 and standards for Maritime Training Centres
Manage trainee feedback process Establish training effectiveness surveys in collaboration with Learning solutions Establish trainer competence and skill management process in collaboration with Learning solution Collaborate to review course learning material and content for shore based training, on board training and e- learning to drive consistency in learning content across V.Group
Manage Crew Conferences globally Delivery of approved crew conferences globally in a consistent manner Engage with SHIPMAN and CREWMAN teams to ensure consist agenda and quality in maintained All key stakeholder groups well represented in all events Manage budgets and cost control
Budgets and cost control Prepare timely budgets for Shore training with supporting assumptions Manage costs in line with agreed budgets and provide inputs to deviations

Minimum sea-going experience of 10 years of which at least 2yrs should have been in a senior officer role Minimum of 5 years ashore working in a shipping environment in LD or Ship Management or Crew Management function Strong understanding of human factors and behavioural training Team leadership experience Experienced in working in a global environment and with remote teams Good command of the English language both, written and spoken. Excellent level of interpersonal skills, communication skills and teamwork.
Desirable
Good working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Budgeting and basic financial understanding Management Degree
