Responsible for keeping himself/herself abreast of all regional Maritime Education and Training regulations and requirements to guide the Group Training Director. He/she is also responsible for managing the local training center operations and the team to ensure compliance with V.Group and industry training requirements. This role must be a champion for the change agenda in seafarer training, through adopting all change and innovation, and regularly working with local V.Group colleagues to identify improvement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
General Management of the allocated Training Center and its activities. Maintaining an overview of Regional training requirements, with special focus on coordinating, planning, scheduling and reviewing training courses and feedback. Set and agree operational KPIs for the training centre, to include trainer/training centre utilisation, cost per training manday, quality and crew compliance Work with internal stakeholders (CM, SM, HSEQ) to ensure training needs are understood and planned for all countries in the region. Follow up on the implementation and progress of the onboard CBT training, Classroom training, and on-the-job training Ensure compliance to procedures, upkeep of documentation and records. In close liaison and direct supervision with Group Training Director remain regional crew training budget responsible with monthly activity and budget impact reporting. Review Quality Manual of the training center and ensure successful achievement and maintenance of audits ISO 9001:2015 as and when required Prepare all necessary monthly training management reports, attendee feedbacks, monthly activity reports including all types of training in approved standard reporting format. Keep updates on IMO/STCW requirements on which schools and training establishments meet national, Flag State and STCW standards. Prepare and maintain training presentations, newsletters, matrix, calendar and monthly reports in line with internal and external requirements. Prepare monthly reports and reviews. Assist with annual crew conference within regions of responsibility Maintain financial overview actual expenses vs budget Identify areas of improvement and efficiency, including minimising ousourced training provisionSupervise and assist if required with cadet administration planning, intake, training initiatives in school and on board. Subject to the approval of the Group Training Director, responsible for the assignment of sea-staff to the most economical external courses at approved institutes and colleges Works on adhoc projects related to training and any other tasks as per Group Training Director s discretion

Minimum 5 yrs sailing experience as officer (Deck or Engine) 10 years relevant experience in shipping industry or in training Excellent communication and leadership skills Ability to plan, multi-task, and manage time effectively Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals Analytical

Class 2 or 1 Maritime COC Experience in ship management functions Up to 4 years experience in a Managerial Position
