Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Plant Head to lead and manage all aspects of plant operations. This pivotal role demands a strategic thinker and operational expert with strong leadership skills, dedicated to achieving production excellence, safety standards, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations Management:

Oversee end-to-end operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and dispatch.

Ensure the plant operates efficiently while meeting production targets and quality standards.

Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance productivity and minimize downtime.

Plan and execute plant expansion or upgrade projects as needed.

Team Leadership:

Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Conduct regular performance evaluations and training programs to upskill the workforce.

Safety and Compliance:

Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations across the plant.

Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure a zero-incident workplace.

Quality Assurance:

Oversee quality control processes to ensure products meet internal and industry standards.

Collaborate with the quality team to address and resolve any product quality issues promptly.

Cost Management:

Monitor and control operational costs to achieve financial efficiency.

Optimize resource utilization, including raw materials, energy, and manpower.

Process Improvement:

Drive initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and adopt industry best practices.

Integrate advanced technologies to improve plant efficiency and output.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, sales, and logistics, to align plant operations with business goals.

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.

Performance Monitoring:

Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency.

Prepare regular reports on plant performance for senior management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or a related field. A postgraduate qualification (MBA/PGDM) is an added advantage.

• Experience:
• 15+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a plant leadership role.
• Prior experience in the aluminium or metals industry is highly preferred.

• Skills:
• Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, maintenance, and quality systems.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and data analysis for operational insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
