IT Integration Specialist - Transportation Sector OR Logistics

Role & responsibilities

1. System Integration Strategy & Planning
- Develop a comprehensive integration strategy that supports real-time data flow across public transportation systems (e.g., ticketing, fleet monitoring, scheduling, passenger information systems).
- Ensure interoperability of legacy systems with modern solutions and cloud platforms.
- Align IT integration strategies with the companys goals for smart mobility and urban transportation innovation.

2. Integration of Public Transportation Solutions
- Lead the integration of specialized public transport systems such as Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems, Fleet Management Systems (FMS), Real-Time Passenger Information Systems (RTPI), and Maintenance & Asset Management Systems (EAM).
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure seamless integration of third-party solutions with internal IT infrastructure.

3. ERP & Business Systems Integration
- Oversee the integration of ERP platforms (for finance, procurement, HR, etc.) with operational systems (fleet, depot, and infrastructure management).
- Ensure that back-office systems are synchronized with front-end passenger-facing platforms.

4. Data Integration & Reporting
- Design and implement data integration pipelines for real-time analytics, predictive maintenance, and decision-making.
- Ensure data consistency, integrity, and security across all integrated systems.
- Provide integration solutions that support regulatory reporting requirements and performance dashboards

5. Operating Systems & Cloud Integration
- Manage the integration of operating systems (Windows, Linux) with cloud-based services (AWS, Azure) and on-premise systems.
- Design hybrid cloud architectures to support scalable and resilient public transport operations.
- Ensure high availability of mission-critical systems, including control room and dispatch solutions.

6. Testing & Quality Assurance
- Lead the development of test plans for integrated systems, ensuring functionality under various load conditions.
- Perform rigorous testing to guarantee reliability and robustness of public-facing services, such as mobile apps and kiosks.

Preferred candidate profile

- Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 12 years of experience in IT system integration, with a proven track record of successful implementations in the public transportation or logistics industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in integrating ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) with critical operational systems.
- Strong understanding of public transportation technologies, including AFC, RTPI, and fleet management systems.
- Expertise in middleware technologies, APIs (REST, SOAP), and data integration tools (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi).
- Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid IT environments.
- Familiarity with data exchange standards for public transportation (SIRI, GTFS, NeTEx).
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity standards and practices for transportation systems.
- Advanced certifications in ERP systems, cloud platforms, or IT project management are highly desirable.
