Role & responsibilities

1. Conducting Research and Experiments

• Plan, design, and carry out experiments to explore chemical reactions, processes, and substances.
• Investigate new compounds, materials, and technologies to innovate and improve products or processes.
• Perform analytical testing and experiments to understand chemical properties and reactions.

2. Analyzing Chemical Samples

• Test samples using various techniques like chromatography, spectroscopy, and titration to determine the composition of substances.
• Interpret data and provide reports on chemical analysis results, making recommendations for improvements or adjustments.

3. Developing New Products or Processes

• Collaborate in the development and optimization of new chemicals, materials, or products, such as pharmaceuticals, cleaning products, and food additives.
• Scale up laboratory findings to larger manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

4. Ensuring Safety and Compliance

• Ensure adherence to industry regulations and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA) while handling chemicals, operating equipment, and conducting experiments.
• Maintain detailed records of experiments, results, and chemical processes in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

5. Quality Control and Assurance

• Monitor production processes to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Perform routine checks and troubleshooting to prevent errors or contamination in the chemical manufacturing process.

6. Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with engineers, biologists, and other scientists to improve products and processes.
• Communicate findings, results, and recommendations to management or clients through presentations, reports, and technical documentation.

7. Maintaining Laboratory Equipment

• Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment used in experiments and analysis.
• Troubleshoot and repair any issues with equipment or lab setups.

8. Staying Updated with Scientific Advances

• Continuously review scientific literature, attend seminars, and participate in training to keep up-to-date with new chemical theories, practices, and technologies.

9. Environmental and Sustainability Efforts

• Work to develop more sustainable processes, such as reducing waste or improving energy efficiency.
• Conduct studies to evaluate the environmental impact of chemical processes or products and find ways to minimize harmful effects. (
• Ensure the collection, preparation, and analysis of samples, maintaining product quality and safety standards, while adhering to food safety, health, and safety regulations.
• Monitor and manage critical control points (CCPs). and implement operational ,prerequisite programs (OPRP),to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Perform routine physical, chemical, and biological analyses)
