Staff Engineer - Database Solutions (9-14 yrs)

Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer - Database to design, optimize, and manage large-scale database solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle databases, and NoSQL technologies to support high-performance applications and mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities :

- Architect, develop and maintain highly scalable and secure database solutions.

- Design and implement efficient SQL and PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.

- Optimize Oracle database performance, indexing, partitioning, and query tuning.

- Work with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, etc. ) to design and maintain modern data solutions.

- Ensure database security, backups, and disaster recovery strategies are in place.

- Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps, and data teams to ensure seamless database integration.

- Lead database migrations, upgrades, and cloud adoption initiatives.

- Implement best practices for data modeling, normalization, and indexing to improve performance.

- Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.

- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements :

- 10 years of experience in database development and administration.

- Expertise in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning.

- Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.

- Strong knowledge of database architecture, indexing, and partitioning techniques.

- Experience in database security, backup, and disaster recovery planning.

- Proficiency in working with large-scale, high-transaction databases.

- Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud Spanner, etc. ).

- Experience in scripting and automation using Python, Shell, or PowerShell.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
