Job Description
- Technical Leadership:
- Lead the design, engineering and technical analysis of solar PV and BESS projects, including system sizing, electrical schematics, and interconnection studies.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations, simulations, and load flow analysis to ensure system reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and review technical specifications, drawings, and other engineering documentation for procurement as well as execution.
- Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Develop and manage procurement strategies for all major project components (solar panels, inverters, transformers, various cables, batteries, racking, etc.).
- Conduct thorough vendor evaluations and selection processes, including technical assessments, financial stability, and reference checks.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, ensuring competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Manage supplier relationships and resolve any procurement-related issues.
- Quality Control & Assurance:
- Establish and implement robust quality control procedures for all procured materials and equipment.
- Ensure process for inspections and testing of incoming materials as per the specifications and quality standards.
- Investigate and address any quality-related issues, including non-conformances and defects.
- Cost Optimization:
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering studies to identify opportunities for cost reduction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Explore and evaluate alternative technologies and solutions to optimize project costs.
- Monitor and track project budgets, identifying and mitigating potential cost overruns.
- Project Support:
- Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams during project implementation.
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in solar PV and BESS technologies.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including power systems analysis, AC/DC systems, and protection systems.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software.
