Job Summary: The Assistant Manager - Information Technology (IT) will supervise IT support staff, oversee the maintenance and repair of computer systems and software, assist in purchasing and installing computer equipment, and maintain networks and connectivity for users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Coordination: Coordinate training and orientation for new technology users, ensuring they become familiar with equipment and networks.
- User Support: Assess user needs to ensure effective technology use and efficient Internet access.
- Technical Support Management: Organize support, troubleshooting, and repair for IT equipment and networks.
- Security Oversight: Monitor online security for users and networks, addressing any breaches as necessary.
- Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with technology and component vendors.
- Team Leadership: Oversee IT support staff, including education, training, and call center specialists.
- HR Collaboration: Advise human resources on staffing needs and participate in the hiring and training process.
- Budget Management: Manage departmental budget, tracking spending on equipment and staff.
- Emergency Planning: Develop and maintain emergency plans to address equipment, power, or security failures, ensuring the preservation of technology and data.
- Technology Research: Maintain a thorough understanding of available technology and research innovative solutions and new releases.
- Industry Expertise: Offer specialized expertise in IT demands relevant to specific industries, such as education, finance, or manufacturing.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience with computers and networks.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills.
