SaT - TCF - Valuation, Model & Econom :

Your key responsibilities
Technical Excellence

Technical expertise
Preparation of a detailed financial model from scratch, in line with global modelling best practices and within a tight time frame
Develop a logical, transparent and understandable model structure capturing all of the client requirements
Suggest and incorporate modelling aspects relevant to the client engagement and/or sector that would provide greater insights to the client
Leverage industry and domain experts within the Firm for industry issues and technical aspects to deliver a superior quality model to the client that is accurate, free of any material errors and easy to understand
Undertake thorough quality checks on the model before it is delivered to the client
Conduct trainings/workshops for client personnel on use of the model and/or put together a model user manual for the client to ensure effective handover
Analyzing business plans prepared in MS Excel, identify issues which might impact the outputs of the model and evaluate their materiality on model outputs
Critically analyze the model and identify not just coding and linkage issues but commercial, analytical and strategic matters that the client team should consider in the model
Quantify the impact of errors/commissions/oversight observed in the model, if required
Exhibit strong communication and report-writing skills to explain and qualify the issues identified
Be assertive to ensure that client incorporates or otherwise adequately addresses all material issues identified before issuing final sign-off
Experience of model builds and model reviews for various purposes. Indicative list outlined below:
Transaction
Equity and debt transactions
Buy-side and sell-side transactions
Strategic, financial (including specific investment vehicles such as SPVs , JV, InvITs, REiTs)
Bid advisory
Government as well as private sector bids
Decision support models for operational monitoring and/or internal management analysis
MIS models
Budget and variance analysis models
Covenant testing models
Benchmarking and market sizing models
Restructuring models
Organizational restructuring
Financial restructuring
Toolkits and template models for day-to-day organizational use
Deep understanding of certain key sectors requiring complex modelling such as
Infrastructure
Power & utilities (including renewable power)
Transportation (roads and highways, airports, railways, ports, shipping)
Waste management and urban infrastructure
Engineering, procurement and construction
Real estate (residential, commercial, retail, hospitality)
Oil & gas (upstream/downstream, pipeline infrastructure)
Telecom and telecom infrastructure
Mining
High-level understanding of other major sectors such pharmaceuticals, life sciences and health care, manufacturing and industrial products, technology
Experience of using VBA with Excel, i.e., Macros, User forms, Add-ins etc.
High level understanding of key accounting and taxation concepts that impact most financial models and that would aid in having intelligent client conversations
Ability to identify where domain experts need to be involved or local teams (in case of international clients) need to be consulted
Knowledge and ability to leverage data visualization and analytics tools on engagements where they can add value to client (tools such as Spotfire, Tableau, PowerBI, Power Pivot, Social media analytics, etc)
Regularly deliver be-spoke trainings on Financial Modelling and Valuation to various corporate organizations, students, educational institutions and finance professionals.
Develop and customize content to make it relevant to the target audience
Devise assignments and assessments to provide the participants with practice material ad evaluate learning
Network with participating professionals and leverage any business opportunities that arise
Respond to participant queries in a timely manner
2. Lead in client service delivery
Independently lead and coordinate the planning and management of engagements including:
Defining the scope of work and ensuring clear and water-tight scoping of the engagement
Pricing and fee negotiation in consultation with senior partners and client account leaders
Manage and ensure timely billing and recovery
Identifying opportunities to cross-sell services across EY and maximizing fee opportunities for the Firm
Monitor effective execution of the work on a multiple client base and assume independent responsibility on engagement management
Develop rapport with middle to senior levels at Client s organization
Participate in advising clients on strategic issues and understanding clients needs - work as a holistic business advisor to the client
Risk Management
Ensure compliance with risk management strategies, plans and activities
Understand the risk management policies at the Firm and bring to focus risk issues on client assignments in a timely manner
Handle straightforward QRM and independence matters on engagements by seeking the necessary approvals and adhering to Firm requirements
Manage sensitive and high level risk issues and escalate matters to senior partners in a timely manner
Proactively resolve (with Partner support) risk issues in delivering service to clients
Develop and implement risk management / mitigation strategies, plans and activities in consultation with seniors / partners / QRM team
4. People Management
Build a strong and cohesive team and be a strong role model, mentor and coach
Train the team effectively to make them independent and aware of EY polices, best practices and role expectations
Effectively manage resourcing on engagements by collaborating within the team and ensuring the right person for the right job
Assist in resolving people issues, if any, in a timely, rational, fair and calm manner
Assist in recruiting activities for the business
Knowledge Management
Champion knowledge sharing efforts, review and continually improve processes so that the team and firm capture and leverage knowledge

6. Business Development, Networking & Identification of opportunities:
Create and manage strong independent relationships with clients at middle to senior positions with minimal partner involvement
Identify and act promptly on referrals
Work towards expanding client base with new wins and conversions (both existing and new clients) by building strong external networks and communicating with the partner on opportunities in a timely manner
Build broad networks within the firm locally and internationally
Maintain up-to-date repository of sector-wise, service-wise credentials and CVs
Periodically develop or participate in putting together thought leadership content on matters relevant to the business and help in periodic refresh of the marketing collateral for the practice
Support the leadership and participate in building the brand of the Firm and the VME practice
Skills and attributes
To qualify for the role you must have
Qualification
CA / MBA from Tier I institution / CFA
Any additional modelling certifications would be preferred
Technical/programming knowledge across domains of VBA, Python, C++, SQL would be given preference
Experience
8+ years of relevant post qualification experience
Strong Financial modeling skills backed by project experience
Analytical skills and attention to detail
Conversant with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and various data modelling, coding and analytics tools such as VBA, SQL, Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
