Transportation Analyst

Job Summary: The Transport Analyst is responsible for analyzing and optimizing transportation operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions. This role involves data analysis, performance monitoring, and process improvement initiatives to enhance the overall transportation network's effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
   
• Collect, analyze, and interpret transportation data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and maintain reports on transportation performance metrics, including cost, efficiency, and service levels.
2. Process Improvement:
   
• Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvement initiatives to optimize transportation operations.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions that enhance logistics performance.
3. Cost Management:
   
• Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Develop strategies to reduce transportation expenses while maintaining service quality.
4. Vendor Management:
   
• Collaborate with transportation service providers to ensure compliance with service agreements and performance standards.
• Evaluate and negotiate contracts with carriers to secure favorable terms and rates.
5. Compliance and Safety:
   
• Ensure transportation operations comply with relevant regulations and safety standards.
• Monitor and report on compliance issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
6. Technology Utilization:
   
• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and other software tools to enhance data accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in transportation and logistics.
7. Stakeholder Communication:
   
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including logistics teams, carriers, and customers.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in transportation analysis, logistics, or a similar role.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL).
• Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the logistics or transportation industry.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards in transportation.
• Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Working Conditions:

• Office environment with occasional travel to warehouses, distribution centers, and carrier facilities.
