Role & responsibilities

Software Development & Implementation

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of software solutions to optimize container depot management, transportation, and cargo handling.
• Evaluate, select, and manage ERP and custom software solutions for logistics and supply chain management.
• Coordinate with service partners in UAE & South Africa, Cape Town for day-to-day IT requirements and support.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technology solutions.
• Drive automation and process improvements through technology initiatives.
• Oversee software development projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry standards.
• Manage software vendors and external developers, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
• Provide training and support to end-users to maximize software utilization.

Hardware & IT Infrastructure

• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, network devices, and computer systems.
• Ensure data security, implement backup strategies, and manage disaster recovery plans.
• Troubleshoot hardware and network issues, providing effective solutions.
• Oversee the procurement, setup, and maintenance of IT equipment.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and maintain documentation for hardware and software assets.

General IT Management

• Develop and execute the IT strategy aligned with the companys growth objectives.
• Monitor IT budgets, optimize costs, and manage vendor relationships.
• Implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Ensure data integrity, cybersecurity, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the IT team.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT management, with a focus on software development and implementation.
• Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, or related industries.
• Proven experience in managing ERP and custom software solutions.
• Familiarity with IT infrastructure, hardware, and network management.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
