About The Role : We are seeking a talented and passionate Commis I (Indian & Tandoor) to join our culinary team in Navi Mumbai, India. As a Commis I specializing in Indian cuisine and tandoor cooking, you will play a crucial role in preparing authentic and delicious dishes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency in our kitchen.
Assist in the preparation of Indian dishes and tandoor specialties under the guidance of senior chefs
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas
Follow recipes and cooking techniques precisely to ensure consistency in flavor and presentation
Properly handle, store, and rotate ingredients to minimize waste and maintain food safety standards
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours
Assist in inventory management and restocking of supplies as needed
Participate in menu development and suggest improvements to existing dishes
Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations in the kitchen
Qualifications
Proven experience (1-2 years) in a professional kitchen, preferably with a focus on Indian cuisine
Proficiency in Indian cooking techniques, especially tandoor cooking
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Excellent knife skills and food preparation abilities
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Strong time management and organizational skills
Basic math skills for accurate ingredient measurements
Culinary diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid food safety certification required
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects when necessary
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
