Founded in March 2019, by Charak and Aastha Almast and Mani Dev Gyawali , New Shop is a chain of 24-7-365 convenience retail stores with omni-channel presence to serve all your daily needs products snacks and beverages, personal care, home care, pet care, confectionery, hygiene needs, ready to eat food, Over-the-counter drugs, and grocery staples.

Charak and Mani Dev graduated from University of Louisiana and founded 2 other startups (Smartican and ProductX Ventures) before starting Apnaklub. Aastha is an IIM- Calcutta graduate and has Co-founded Smartican before starting Apnaklub

The startup currently has over 50 outlets in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and in some parts of UP and Haryana. It is now planning to expand to more geographies in UP, MP, Haryana, Gujarat, Karnataka and Maharashtra and the startup is also in talks with investors to raise a large Series B round. About Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and highly ethical VP Finance to lead the Finance department. This person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of a company's financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, analysis, reporting, risk management, and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, while providing strategic financial advice to the leadership team and guiding the finance department.

Key Responsibilities :

Financial Planning and Analysis:

- Developing and managing the annual budget process

- Performing complex financial analysis to identify trends and potential risks

- Creating financial projections and forecasts to inform strategic decision-making.

- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial health

Financial Reporting:

- Overseeing the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements

- Presenting financial information to senior management and the board of directors

- Developing and distributing insightful financial reports for decision-making

Team Leadership:

- Managing and developing the finance team, including accountants, analysts, and treasury personnel

- Setting performance goals for the finance team and providing ongoing coaching and feedback

Risk Management:

- Identifying and mitigating potential financial risks

- Implementing internal controls and compliance procedures

Strategic Initiatives:

- Collaborating with other departments to support business objectives

- Evaluating potential investments and acquisitions from a financial perspective

- Contributing to the development of long-term financial strategies

Investor Relations :

- Preparing financial materials for investors and analysts

- Communicating financial performance to the investment community

Required Skills:

-10+ years of experience in a similar role especially in FMCG sector

-Strong analytical skills: Ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful insights

-Leadership and communication skills: Effectively lead a team and present financial information to diverse stakeholders

-Financial modeling expertise: Proficiency in using financial modeling tools to analyze scenarios and make informed decisions

-Accounting knowledge: Deep understanding of accounting principles and practices.

-Strategic thinking: Ability to align financial strategies with overall business objectives

-Excellent communication skills: Clearly articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences
