Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - waste of time
I wanted to share my feedback from the interview process.

Firstly, there was a one-hour company presentation, but much of the information provided was readily available online. Spending an hour on something that didn't add value to my knowledge felt like my time wasn't being respected.

After waiting for a couple of hours, my first interview round happened. I think it went okay. The interviewer didn't introduce themselves, but they asked good questions that highlighted my engineering skills.

After waiting for 10 hours, my second round of interviews began. Once again, the interviewer didn't bother with introductions, perhaps assuming their celebrity status made it unnecessary. When I suggested showing a short presentation to explain my past projects and skills in just 5 minutes, the interviewer refused, claiming they were pressed for time. This completely soured my mood after waiting for 10 hours, especially since they couldn't spare even 5 minutes for my introduction.

As I began my introduction, one of the interviewers started asking questions, cutting me off. I felt it was important to establish my background, but they seemed eager to move on. Despite this, I remained composed and addressed their questions about designing a 10-layer PCB stack and using an oscilloscope. It was clear they hadn't thoroughly reviewed my CV. The interview concluded abruptly after just 7 minutes. Despite the challenges, I appreciated the opportunity and remained professional throughout.

Lenovo, I’m left puzzled by the brevity of our interview. How could my eight years of experience be assessed in just seven minutes and two questions?
I expected inquiries that would highlight my problem-solving skills and delve into my past projects, yet none were asked.
Spending ten hours at your office over the weekend, only to be met with such a rushed interaction, makes me question the value placed on candidates' time.
Waiting for ten hours for my interview without even a brief opportunity to share my background and experiences felt disheartening.
If this is indicative of Lenovo's interview process, it raises concerns about the office culture and how employees' time and contributions are valued. A more comprehensive interview approach would not only provide a better assessment but also demonstrate genuine consideration for candidates.
I offer this feedback constructively, hoping for improvements in future interview experiences for both candidates and Lenovo.
