Interview Preparation Tips

General Tips: Naturally I was tense before interview. About 22 scientist -C were called for post of Scientist -D and waiting for call.
Most of them were reading technical books/publications etc with long faces. I was silently sitting and tried to get relaxed by observing the environment around. Then decided to talk with colleague who was having pleasant smiling face and also keen to talk with positive attitude which helped me to relax. In my opinion at this level it is childish to do 11th hour review as interview is mainly based on fundamental understanding of technical work assigned during period of assessment. So it should be on our tips. Mostly board members ask questions only out of Bio-data,work performed,research publication submitted to board. So one should be very care full using hard impressive statements/words in our documents as it may boomerang. Select simple technical words/terms which can be explained easily. Questions are nothing but the hidden contents of our Bio-data and other documents. It means we are the one who can creates questions. For Ex. I used some terminology extensively in my research papers which attracted attention of one of board member and I got question on it. So one may use repetitive mathematical equations,statistical functions,scientific terms in which he is thorough. It is also beneficial to have at least one mock interview with our seniors. In most of the interviews chairman of board offer an opportunity to explain our contribution for the period of assessment in the beginning. For this too practice is helpful when we are alone or with our senior. Boasting,bluffing is highly dangerous as it questions our integrity also and chances of failure is 100%. One should never do it better say no. I tried my level best to adopt these practices and got succeeded.

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - I got a chance to interview after clearing the exam and my interview went well. They asked me a mix of all types of technical and HR questions. But still in the final list my name was not there. They did not even select the number they had advertised for. I was disheartened obviously but then I did some research. I found that they do this quite often- post advertisements but do not hire people. A person clears the exam, proves his capability and is selected for interview among 100s of other candidates who appeared, so how come IPPB is unable to shortlist. It feels false play just to collect fees who no sufficient hiring is done. My honest advise is DO NOT WASTE TIME APPLYING HERE.
