Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - just avoid. Going abroad or studying for GATE is more beneficial than joining here. Especially if you are a fresher, please realize that no matter how bad your btech was, you still have a lot of time to upskill yourself. At the end of the day no one will remember your btech once u complete a decent masters/have work exp. Please don't give these precious years to these freeloaders. In the industry most people know what LnT is actually like. The company name will only get you a pat on the back, nothing else. In fact most people who have worked at LnT will be averse to hiring someone who worked here extensively because it is well known that LnT people are quite unsociable and underqualified. LnT knows no one will work for a construction company for 50k a month if they had a choice. Company policy IS TO stagnate your growth. Further taken forward by managers because they are basically a random dude from some tier 3 master hogging the job. insane salary difference between positions and almost 0 promotions. Company does hire good freshers under the pretext of R&D work. R&D involves little bit of autocad and a lot of excel. Unfortunately no one stays for more than a few months. MOST IMPORTANTLY: MOST OF THE HIGHER UPS ARE ABSOLUTELY CLUELESS ABOUT BASIC MECHANICAL CONCEPTS. DESIGN ENGINEERS DID NOT HAVE ACCESS TO ASME HANDBOOKS, WHICH MEANT EVERY SINGLE PROJECT HAD CALCULATION ERRORS THAT TAKES UP UNNECESSARY TIME FROM THE EMPLOYEES THAT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. ALSO THESE UNDERQUALIFIED PEOPLE WILL DO PETTY THINGS LIKE COME AND TALK TO YOU WHILE YOURE WORKING TO SLOW YOU DOWN. YOU WONT BE ABLE TO SAY ANYTHING ALSO BECAUSE THE POOR DUDE IS LIKE A 19YR OLD DIPLOMA GRAD BEING FORCED TO WORK 12 HRS A DAY OF MANUAL/MENIAL LABOUR INSTEAD OF ALLOWING THEM TO LEARN. ITS A MESS, JUST AVOID.

I appeared for an interview before Jun 2024, where I was asked the following questions.

  • Q1. What is knocking
  • Ans.

Knocking is an unwanted combustion phenomenon in engines, causing noise and potential damage due to premature fuel ignition.

    • Occurs when fuel-air mixture ignites before the spark plug fires.

    • Can lead to engine damage if persistent, such as piston damage.

    • Common in high-compression engines or with low-quality fuel.

    • Example: A car engine making a pinging sound under acceleration.

  • Answered by AI
  • Q2. In which type of engine is carburettor provided
  • Ans.

A carburettor is typically used in petrol engines to mix air and fuel for combustion.

    • Carburettors are commonly found in older petrol engines.

    • They are used in motorcycles, lawn mowers, and small engines.

    • Examples include the SU carburettor and the Weber carburettor.
