Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - Writing this after working for a year.

1. Company wants very high skilled people for a corporate entity but the salaries offered are equivalent to very small scale company (They take 30-40 interviews to select 1 candidate for a junior level post, understand the kind of skill set they are looking for).

2. No response about the interview result for months, if you are good in the interview, they will only call you when it is very necessary for them to recruit you.

3. During salary discussions, HRs behave like, we are doing charity by offering a job to you at our prestigious company (only for them) and argue to not expect the industry scale salaries or as per your skillset.

4. They expect you to join immediately, but when you have to exit, you have to mandatorily serve 90 days notice period (must).

5. Salary and appraisal delays ranging from 2-7 months. FY2021-22 appraisals came in Nov 2021. Salary delays for 2-3 months for junior level posts.

6. Growth rates are 3-10% (not even matching the inflation rates).

7. Be careful, under which manager you are joining (70% of the managers expect you to work 11-13 hrs a day, but they themselves come at 11:00AM and go at 5:00PM).

8. If you are joining where you have to deal directly with vendors or customers, note that vendor payments are delayed for more than a year, customer flat delivery delayed by 5-7 yrs. So you have to listen to their harsh words on a regular basis.

9. To much of repetitive works and irresponsible resource usage as the top management wants to micromanage and also changes designs every few months after lot of next phase works closed, sometimes even after the works at site are started (Typical design closure of any villa or flat takes 3-4 yrs).
