Interview Preparation Tips

Experience: They asked us our opinion on smart cities and development.
Duration: 1.5hrs minutes

Round: HR Interview
Experience: They asked us questions based on my transportation engineering related projects and courses. They were basically asking questions on any project that I have done and they were just checking how well I have applied the concepts even though it wasn’t related to transportation engineering. They also asked me about my extra-curricular activities.

General Tips: Doing a Finance based intern during second/third year would have helped in getting a fin company. For consulting big firms like McK and BCG, getting involved in many other activities during first and second year would have helped in building up an all round resume. Proper preparation for CAT would seriously be very helpful during non-core placement. First year- Try to explore everything in insti- be it sports, CFI, Drams, Choreo or learn any musical instrument. Don’t just mug and concentrate on CG. Try to build an all round personality.Second year- Try taking responsibilities and get involved in Fests like Shaastra, Saarang, CEA. Try to participate in them and build up a passion for anything that interests you the most.Third year- try to concentrate on your acads as the department courses become more interesting . Talk to profs to find out the area of your interest and start working on some dept. projects.Fouth year- Start preparing for non core placements atleast a month before the actual placement season. People interested in core, please don’t waste your time on placement preparation instead be involved in dept. project and work on it with full enthu. Do not let the placements affect your CG.
Skill Tips: Did not prepare for non-core companies. Knowledge about current affairs might help in non-core placements. Case in Point and Victor Cheng can be helpful for consulting.
