Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - I recently had an interview experience that left me quite disheartened. It was for a company that I was really excited about, as it seemed like a perfect fit for my skills and aspirations. However, my encounter with the interviewer, Suraj, was far from what I had expected.
The interview was scheduled for 12:00 AM, and I made sure to arrive early, well-prepared and enthusiastic about the opportunity. However, to my surprise, Suraj was not present at the scheduled time. I was left waiting for almost 20 minutes before he finally strolled into the room.

Suraj's lack of punctuality was just the beginning of my disappointment. As we began the interview, it became apparent that he had little interest in conducting a thorough evaluation. His questions were vague and lacked depth, giving me the impression that he was merely going through the motions. It felt as though he had already made up his mind about hiring someone else or perhaps there was no real requirement for the position in the first place.

Throughout the interview, Suraj appeared disengaged and distracted. He seemed uninterested in my responses and barely paid attention to what I was saying. It was evident that he had not taken the time to review my application or familiarize himself with my qualifications.

As the interview progressed, I couldn't help but feel frustrated and demoralized. It was clear that Suraj's lackadaisical approach was not only disrespectful to me as a candidate but also a reflection of the company's overall attitude towards the hiring process.

The whole experience left a lasting negative impression on me. I had prepared diligently for the interview, researched the company extensively, and invested my time and energy into the opportunity. To be met with such apathy and disinterest from the interviewer was disheartening, to say the least.

In retrospect, I can't help but wonder if Suraj's behavior was an exception or if it was indicative of a larger problem within the company's culture. Regardless, it was undeniably the most disappointing and unprofessional interview I have ever encountered.

I hope that my experience serves as constructive feedback for the company and that they take steps to improve their interview processes. It is essential for organizations to value and respect candidates' time and efforts, providing them with a fair and engaging interview experience.

I applied via Approached by Company and was interviewed in Sep 2023. There were 4 interview rounds.
