Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: I was fresher and had no guidance on how to proceed for job hunting or internship. After few months, I heard many of our classmates got placed somewhere. It was nice to hear but it made me to think that why am I leaving behind and what should I do to grab a job? I felt too much stressed and pressurized. I did not wanted to lose a single point which was helpful for finding jobs. I searched for companies in my location which were of my field, made a list of those companies with phone numbers, address and email ID. I called them up and inquired about vacancies available. The common reply was "Send me your resume on my mail ID, we will let you know in case of suitable vacancy". I emailed resume to everyone I talked.Being a girl I was restricted by my family to visit out of town in case of official work which pulled me off from several opportunities called for official tour. I found some of the jobs in newspaper suitable for me but couldn't proceed due to the the restrictions.Although I knew that it will take time to find a suitable job, I was being more stressed with the passing time. One day I received a call from Global scholar company. he gave me small task to create a PPT(power point presentation) based on his company within specific time.I finished the given task in specified time. He called me next day interview was scheduled. He didn't talk much on phone and instructed to come for interview next day morning through skype as i opted for skype interview.
Tips: Your resume needs to be grammatically perfect. If it isn't, employers will read between the lines and draw not-so-flattering conclusions about you, No matter how well written, your resume won't get a thorough reading the first time through. Generally a resume gets scanned for 25 seconds. Scanning is more difficult if it is hard to read, poorly organized or exceeds two pages.Format your resume wisely. Good resume helps easily to grab good Job.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: As usual interview started with me on specific time given to me . With high nervousness i appeared . First he asked me about the college and my personal details. This made me some ease to get rid off my nervousness and anxiety. Then HR had a look on my resume and looked at my extra curricular activities and qualities. He asked questions for each lines of the resume, like why do you say as a good learner and asked questions from based on my resume. After that he moved to technical topics and also asked me to start a presentation (PPT) of earlier task which was given to me. I was pretty nervous and i started my presentation with full confidence ,it went on well and thankfully he was impressed with my presentation. I was asked few questions after my presentation. I answered it calmly and convincingly. He said i will let you know if you are selected or not in a day or two.
I was eagerly waiting for the result. Surprisingly on the day itself i got an offer letter and i was so elated and my parents too.
Tips: Never appear desperate and less confident. Reflect the three Cs during the interview: cool, calm and confidence. You know you can do the job, make sure the interviewer believes you can, too.

General Tips: It is important to bring energy and enthusiasm to the interview. Prepare for the interview by reading through the job posting, matching your skills with the position's requirements and relating only that information.

Skill Tips: If you are describing a particular problem or difficult situation it may feel natural to attack or place blame on another person. However, these questions are about you, not about anyone else. Focus on what you did to manage the situation, and how you could have improved the situation.
Skills: Ability To Convince, Time Management, good communication skills
Duration: 6months
College Name: VRK Womens College of Engineering and Technology
