BNY Interview Questions, Process, and Tips

Round: Test
Experience: This is a 35 questions verbal,aptitude,logical and 15 questions technical written test. The aptitude questions include problems in work and time, profit and loss, age mostly from your typical aptitude books( placement aptitude RS Agrawal). The tech aptitude was the hardest there were questions from c programming only all write the output for the following program type of questions.The time given is 50 minutes so 1 minute for each question. In my college the selection for the aptitude was a bit weird as in a good number of people who claimed to have written the exam well did not get selected for the next round but people who weren’t expecting at all made it.

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: Each GD lasted for about 10-12 minutes, with 10 members in each group. The point here is that do not wait for your turn to speak , start talking the moment the GD starts,There were mass eliminations in the GD. You don’t get to choose your own topic, they have their own list some of the topic were:

who are better managers? Men or Women?
who can cook better men or women
which is better e-book or paper book
for the topics that include “men or women ” state the pros about the opposite gender rather than supporting your gender it will get you extra points.

Round: Other Interview
Experience: There were 2 types of panels, one asked pure HR questions only and the other a mixture of HR and Tech questions. An interview lasted for approximately 20 minutes.A total of 26 people attended this round out of with 16 got placed.They is only one interviewer. Some of the questions asked were:
HR questions:

Self intro
details about family, brother, sister
What you ate in the morning and stuff
Tell us a moment in time when you took responsibility and lead your team to success.
If you won the story telling contest they ask you to tell a story.

Most of the HR questions were all simply everyday questions
Tech Questions:

Explain your project, what were the hurdles how you over came them
Write a program to reverse a string
The sum of digits from 1 to 100 except one digit is given how will you find which digit is missing write a program for it(Simple just find the sum of digits from 1 to 100 and subtract from given sum).

Experience: Most of the HR questions were all simply everyday questionsTech Questions:Explain your project, what were the hurdles how you over came themWrite a program to reverse a stringThe sum of digits from 1 to 100  except one digit is given how will you find which digit is missing write a program for it(Simple just find the sum of digits from 1 to 100 and subtract from given sum).Some jsp, basics data structures , and c programmingOverall the interview round were easy , the interviewers were all supportive.Within 2 hours of the interview rounds the results were announced and 5 of us send them of at the airport (they bought us food :D).
