Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - Don't show tension in your face keep smiling.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: The shortlist is one with a lot of variation, nothing specific. So just keep your fingers crossed.
Tips: Be thorough with your internships and projects. Be honest. Don’t lie or boast on paper, you will be caught.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: The first round interview is a basic elimination round. You are checked on your creativity and problem solving skills. They do talk about your resume here.
Tips: Impress them by thinking out of the box. Do practice case studies. I was asked just one in this round but more can be asked to you. Don’t sound desperate. Just be confident.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Typical HR interview. Prepare all the HR questions from books on DC. Common HR questions to see the kind of individual you are.
Tips: Just keep them involved in the discussion. Be calm and confident. It was quite like a really long chat
about my background and other non-academic aspects of my CV. Impress him by asking questions about the company and your role (this carries weightage for sure).

Round: HR Interview
Experience: This round is with a senior manager (this guy is going to decide whether you are in or out). Two case studies were given to me in this round. A couple of basic econometric questions were given
Tips: Be professional and be concise.

General Tips: Practice case studies from HBS case study booklet or any other source, but do practice. Just be clear with the basics of your department. Try to be thorough with statistical basic concepts. Use a lot of common sense and you will make it.
