I don't even know where to begin. Initially there were reviews which made me doubt my decision to join Teach for India, but after being there, my perception changed completely. It's a very professionally run, but also a place that provides a familial environment, and doesn't shove hierarchy in your face. Everyone works as if they are all at the same level. Very helpful and positive people. Yes, the work is not easy, and if you are coming for the sole purpose of a paycheck, you might be disappointed. But the work satisfaction is tremendous, and they will provide support whenever you need it and in whichever form you want. It is a great place to gauge what obstacles come in the way of a student, a school and a community in order to provide excellent education to the upcoming generation with poverty in mind.

Dislikes

Hierarchy and not very strong evidence based teaching/ learning training is given to Fellow. Since every fellow works under multiple layers of constraints, two years is very short to gain skill/expertise in building teaching skills and effectively understanding how culture plays an immense role in empowering the younger generation.
