As many schools failed to stick to the policy of TFI, fellows working at schools had to face challenges. so, Policy should be clear and followed by all stakeholders.

I like that I used to work for a cause and could drive change in my classroom.

The company culture is pathetic. The school culture can be either okay or extremely bad. There is zero work life balance, I mean it ZERO work life balance. You get up in the morning, leave for school, come back at evening 4 50 PM and then rush to TFI office again for a meeting at 5 30 School timings are morning 8 till evening 4 in Hyderabad. TFI has meetings twice a month so you have to take stress on those days. There will be other meetings as well :) Online meetings where you will have to attend the sessions with you camera on and answer a plethora of questions so you can't sleep or do anything productive during that time. They will teach you about POSH and Fellow Basic Expectations but I know of cases where senior fellows have humiliated their junior fellows and the city administration has said plain and simple that they wouldn't handle such cases. Also some months you'll be working on Sundays, one day I lost a relative and had to work on that day :)) It's one of the worst organisations to work for just after BYJU's. The only good thing about it is the kids that's all....Read More

Terrible company to work for. They talk about child safety but I have known TFI fellows who have beaten children and still got a casual warning from the TFI upper management. My senior fellow insulted me, called me dirty names, threatened to make my life "miserable" and when I lodged a complaint against him in TFI what did they tell me ? You're both adults, sort it out yourself. I left the pathetic organisation and joined a well renowned MNC, I then realised what a good company culture is, my second organisation treated me well and with respect, they don't lecture you about PoSH and workplace ethics guidelines, but they ensure that if there is a violation it is swiftly dealt with and no silly statements are made. Also beware, you'll get creepy Headmasters/Headmistress/School Principals who will make your life hell. You won't get an iota of support from your Program Managers or even the City Director. What I dislike about them is that they boast a lot. They're absolutely worthless but the kind of catchy lines they use for luring idiots like me, their tactics are misleading. You think the girl who committed suicide (employee of EY) was under stress ? Yes you're thinking right but still that case came to light, trust me, fellows ofTFI have seen extreme stress and an extremely bad company culture. Reach the school at 8 30 and then after school gets over at 4 PM, attend meetings after 4 PM, make drawings and charts for your classroom, sleep at 10 and have no life of your own....Read More

When you enter Teach for India as a fellow, you have to come in with a mindset where you are willing to sacrifice a lot of those small personal moments of pleasure and relaxation to be able to do justice to the role you have taken.
